The instrument is built upon the same long battery life, made in the US, platform as the PRM-8000 and PRM-9000, which have been the choice of governments, organizations and individuals around the world. The instrument is designed to similar specifications as devices used to address the radiation hazards faced by firefighters, HAZMAT teams, paramedics and other first responders. The PRM-7000 can be calibrated to the official international standards of accuracy required for regulatory work. Note, this product is not the best choice for testing food please consider the PRM-9000.
